Vardan Voskanian
Instructor of Persian Language
Professor Vardan Voskanian heads the Department of Iranian Studies at Yerevan State University.
Prof. Voskanian frequently serves as a Persian translator during official political and business meetings and negotiations in Armenia and abroad.
Prof. Voskanian serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Iranian Linguistics.
Prof. Voskanian’s mastery of Iranian languages is not only limited to Persian (Modern Persian, Classical Persian, Middle Persian, and Old Persian). He also has fluency in Pashto and Kurmanji.
He has a BA and MA degrees from the Department of Iranian Studies, Yerevan State University, and has done his Ph.D. at the Institute of Oriental Studies of St. Petersburg branch of the Russian National Academy and Institute of Linguistics, Armenian National Academy with a main focus on the comparative Indo-Iranian linguistics.
Persian Language Courses
Our Persian language courses are open to anyone with upper elementary or intermediate knowledge of the Persian language. The lectures are organized with the academic interests of our participants in mind. Students as well as researchers working in Iranian Studies and relevant fields will benefit the most from our courses.
