The material covered in the Persian classes was quite challenging for me as it was my first time engaging with formal Persian writing (e.g., political speeches and books). However, the intensity of the course meant that my Persian ability quickly improved, and I could keep up with the pace of the course. The fact that the topics we covered were always interesting meant that I never found myself bored in class. It helped that both my teachers were outstanding; I have never met someone with such a thorough understanding of Persian!
I really enjoyed getting to know my classmates. It was a diverse group, but all of us were really interested in Persian and Iran. They were great people to spend time with, and we had lots of fun exploring Yerevan (a fantastic city) after class each day. The weekend excursions organized by Aspirantum enabled me and my new friends to see places in Armenia outside of Yerevan, and I have taken home some unforgettable memories.
