10 weeks (or 5-9 weeks) 2025 Armenian Language Summer School

Aspirantum is not just a language program, it is a cultural immersion experience of the highest caliber. As a student, I entered the program expecting to simply refine and advance my command of the Armenian language. Instead, I was delighted to find the program's offerings to be far more comprehensive than I could have anticipated.

Aspirantum's director, Khachik Gevorgyan, is tireless in his efforts to create a life-changing experience for every student, including guided tours to ancient sites, cultural and artistic enrichment outings, and moments to come together in happy celebration with the other students. It is consistently evident how much he cares about making Aspirantum an unforgettable experience for each student while keeping himself constantly available to address any concerns that arise. My instructor, Lia Lalayan, was so helpful, encouraging, and dynamic in her pedagogy. Though learning languages can often be intimidating, she made the Armenian language feel accessible, fun, and endlessly fascinating to unlock with every lesson. My language curriculum was personally curated to fit my interests and major questions and the instruction was top-tier in both rigor and quality.  Her excellent command of both English and Armenian and her dedication to addressing my needs and questions as a student greatly facilitated my language learning.

To anyone wondering if Aspirantum is the right fit for them, I extend my promise that they will only find the program to be a wonderful experience, filled with rich learning encounters and language-acquisition opportunities, and the friendliest of company. As an intersection of the Western, Islamic, and Slavic worlds, Armenia is uniquely positioned to offer an exceptional learning environment for interested students, transcending lines of language, culture, and faith. Aspirantum excels at illuminating these intersecting worlds within an Armenian context, allowing students of many backgrounds the chance to be enriched on intellectual, social, emotional, and cultural lines.

“I cannot speak highly enough about my experience. The small size of my classes with such experienced instruction helped me catapult my language skills and set me up for productive study beyond the program. Each week’s extracurricular programming was essential for cultural lessons and seeing the sights of Armenia.”
