I took a 3-weeks course of ASPIRANTUM in Eastern Armenian in summer 2019 after receiving a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation grant. The entire experience was great, and I'd like to recommend it to anyone.
I knew barely no Armenian when I arrived, the alphabet, a vague inkling of the grammar, some words, and by the time I left I was able to understand the logic of most texts I came across, and to become independent in my studies.
This was thanks not only to the classes themselves, which were top-notch, but also to how accommodating the entire ASPIRANTUM staff and teachers were, and how they took care that students with different needs could use the help they needed to learn the language.
Apart from the classes, both the city itself in the Summer was very pleasant, and the field trips that were provided to experience Armenia at large were also extremely interesting, fun, and we got to know places of dazzling beauty.
I never felt abandoned or stranded, and I knew that if I had any problems with the course, or with my time in Yerevan, the staff at ASPIRANTUM could be relied on to do their best to solve it and actually do solve it, and who kept tabs on what issues we were having so that they could solve them timely.
I am happy to recommend the course to everyone, and I hope future students profit from it as much as I know I did.

“My expectations were high, and yet I was pleasantly surprised. I left the course with a thorough understanding of the grammar, a fundamental vocabulary, and all the resources to build upon it myself.”Read Testimonial

“ASPIRANTUM’s summer program is one of, if not the, best way to learn Armenian over the summer. The length of the program, the environment, and, most importantly, the quality of teaching made it a productive and educational experience.”Read Testimonial
