I found this course immensely valuable for learning about the peculiarities of classical Persian. The course design and syllabus, along with Ruben's incredible language and teaching skills, made this course a valuable learning experience. Far from being a one-sided flow of knowledge, the students were actively encouraged to think over complex terms and sentences and come up with their own interpretation of the text, which were then incorporated into discussions on the text. I especially liked how Ruben engaged with every individual student in the group and paid attention to small details in the text. Although designed as a brief course, it offers a peek into the fascinating world of classical Persian. I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone interested in classical Persian.
