I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Russian language course offered by ASPIRANTUM during the summer, which was truly an excellent experience.
It was a special learning experience for me since I was in a class with peers with similar skills for the first time in my journey of learning the Russian language. This made for a highly productive and collaborative learning environment. Our teacher, Alyona, was exceptional in managing a diverse group of new Russian speakers, striking the perfect balance between encouraging our enthusiasm and focusing on the finer points of grammar.
This intensive program improved my language skills and provided fantastic excursions that added an entirely new dimension to my learning journey in Armenia. Aspirantum excursions are an excellent opportunity for students learning abroad, providing a sense of belonging where they are without their support systems or communities, as well as knowledge about the country and its culture beyond the classroom. Not only were they enjoyable and informative, but they played a vital role in creating a sense of community among the students. We explored the beautiful surroundings together, and this shared experience brought us closer as a group. It was amazing to see how these excursions helped foster connections that extended beyond the classroom.
In general, Yerevan, Armenia, makes an excellent city for a Russian language learner. Everyday life provides ample opportunities to speak, complimenting the class. Frequent and nonchalant speaking exercises with the city’s inhabitants who speak the language fabulously contributed to an immersive experience.
I highly recommend participating in Aspirantum’s language courses to anyone looking to learn Russian in a supportive and engaging environment. Kudos to the fantastic Alyona and the organizers for this enriching experience!
