This year's Aspirantum summer school was held online.
Initially, I was a little unsure as to how teaching would happen online, but I was wonderfully surprised by the quality of teaching and teaching materials on the summer school.
The intermediate level course greatly extended by Persian language skills in multiple ways. The well-rounded syllabus developed my listening, reading, and speaking skills to a great extent. The wide variety of texts studied meant that we were exposed to many different writing styles and a large volume of new vocabulary. Of particular interest were Professor Voskanian's fascinating excursions into grammar and etymology.
My favourite part of the course, however, was the study of classical texts such as Shahnameh and the Masnavi-ye Ma'navi of Rumi. All in all, the summer school was a great use of my summer and I would recommend this course to all students of Persian. I look forward to joining future Aspirantum Persian courses.
