8 weeks (or 4-7 weeks) 2023 Armenian Language Winter School

The Armenian language winter course exceeded all my expectations! It was a unique experience not only to learn a lot about Armenian but also to learn to know Yerevan, Armenia, and the Armenian people and to make friends forever.

The language course is intensive but in a very relaxed atmosphere. We had a lot of homework to do, the pace was high, and the goal could not be achieved without hard work. But the result is amazing: I have the impression to have learned more in two weeks than in one year of unsystematical self-study!

Of course, after 2 weeks I am not fluent in Armenian, but I have a solid grammatical base now to build on, and, most importantly, my enthusiasm and my love of the Armenian language and culture were growing day after day!

I have the biggest admiration for our teacher Lilit who had the difficult task to teach a heterogeneous little group in one class, but she found a perfect way to do it! The teaching method was excellent and stimulating.

Besides the classes, there were interesting excursions with other students from other programs and the finishing party was great, typical Armenian. The whole course was very well organized.

“The language course and trip to Armenia far exceeded my expectations in every way. By the end of the course I had achieved more than I had expected and feel well-prepared to continue with self-study, until such time as I am able to attend another course, which I very much hope I will be able to do at some point.”
