Persian Language Semester Program, from Aug 18, 2024 to Dec 06, 2024 (16 weeks)

Armenian School of Languages and Cultures - ASPIRANTUM is organizing the seventh 16-week Persian language semester program in Yerevan, Armenia. The seventh 16-week semester program of Persian language will start on August 18, 2024, and will last till December 6, 2024 (111 days, 300 hours of Persian language instruction).

Once a week classes of Persian language will be followed by a lecture on different topics of Iranian linguistics, literature and history. During the summer school several cultural trips will be offered, which will transform your stay in Armenia into an unforgettable, academically oriented endeavour.

Armenian School of Languages and Cultures in Yerevan organizes its third International Persian Language Summer School in Yerevan, Armenia to take place from July 07 to July 27 (3 weeks), 2019.

This 21 days summer school offers participants to master skills in written and oral modern Persian, reading and interpreting Persian texts from different periods as well as rapidly deepening their knowledge in colloquial Farsi.

During the summer school several cultural trips will be offered, which will transform your stay in Armenia into an unforgettable, academically oriented endeavour.

On the first day (July 07, Sunday) the program will be launched in Garni, built by king Tiridates I in the first century AD as a temple to the god Mithra/Mihr. In the evening the group will travel to Yerevan for an opening dinner.

Classes will start on July 8th and will include lectures, seminars and presentations. Once a week classes of Persian language will be followed by a lecture on different topics of Iranian linguistics, literature and history.

This Farsi Language Summer School is designed for students, at least 18 years-old, who not only want to make well-grounded progress in their knowledge of the Persian language, but also to deepen their knowledge of Iranian Studies and Iran.

The 3 weeks summer schools offers an intensive Persian language course spanning 60 hours, divided into 15 days of instruction and focusing on grammar, reading, speaking, and writing. Another 5 hours is devoted to lectures on Iranian linguistics, literature and history.

Upon request the summer school duration may be 4, 8 or 10 weeks.

Our courses are open to anyone with upper elementary (knowledge of alphabet, some reading and knowledge of basic grammar concepts) or intermediate knowledge of the Persian language. The lectures are organized with the academic interests of the participants in mind to ensure that BA, MA, PhD students as well as post-docs and professors who work in Iranian Studies and relevant fields can benefit from it.

Lectures will be held in Persian and/or English.

The participation fee is 1790 USD for 3 weeks Persian Language course.

Application deadline is April 20, 2019.

This price includes reading and writing materials, coffee breaks, welcome and farewell parties, transportation and meal costs during cultural trips, some dinners with guest speakers.

We will not cover accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, visa costs, insurance, travel costs to Armenia, from Armenia and in Armenia, any costs of accompanying friends or family members.

The Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships program provides allocations of academic year and summer fellowships to institutions of higher education or consortia of institutions of higher education to assist meritorious undergraduate students and graduate students undergoing training in modern foreign languages and related area or international studies.
