Listening: All of our listening videos today are from an Iranian documentary series titled “Tehrangard”. The first one is an episode dedicated to the dialect of Tehran, the second offers an overview of Tehran’s residential architecture, and the third tells about Lavasan - a popular weekend getaway near Tehran known for its natural beauty and affluent neighborhoods.
Subject of Conversation: The city I like the most (شهری که بیشتر از همه دوست دارم)
During the conversation, students will discuss their favorite cities, whether within Iran or internationally. They will explain what makes these cities special to them, considering aspects like culture, history, landmarks, food, and people. Students are encouraged to use descriptive language and share personal experiences or memories related to their chosen city.
Homework:
- Watch one of the aforementioned episodes of the Tehrangard documentary entirely. Write a summary of what you've learned in approximately 200 words.
- Finalize your list of “rules” of colloquial Persian. Compare it with the grammar PDF provided by the instructor - what have you missed?
Weekend Presentation: On the first day of the following week, each student will deliver a 7–10 minute presentation about their hometown or their favourite city, followed by a Q&A session where they will respond to questions from their peers. Students should include aspects such as the city's history, culture, landmarks, daily life, and what makes it special to them, as well as any personal experiences related to the city. This exercise will help students develop structured speech, expand their vocabulary, and build confidence in Persian communication.
